Muqtada al-Sadr has announced the full integration of the Saraya al-Salam militia into the Iraqi state, citing the national interest and the need to mitigate surrounding threats.
Under the new arrangement, the group's civilian wings will be reorganized into a charitable organization named al-Bรผnyan al-Mersus. The transition prohibits the further use of military headquarters, uniforms, weapons, or military titles.
Al-Sadr expressed gratitude to all military formations within Saraya al-Salam and stated that he has forgiven those who were unable to align with the group's religious, ideological, and social directives.
Additionally, al-Sadr called upon all Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) factions to abandon party and sectarian affiliations and surrender their weapons to the state.
