Man kills wife in Salahuddin village; police arrest multiple suspects in province-wide operations

BAGHDAD, Iraq โ A man killed his wife at their home in Shukra village, Sharqat district, in Iraq's Salahuddin province, security sources said, adding that the motive has not been determined. Security forces cordoned off the area and opened an investigation.
Separately, the Salahuddin Police Directorate said it carried out preventive operations across the province as part of a regional security plan. Multiple suspects wanted in cases including terrorism, theft, kidnapping and fraud were arrested, the directorate said.
The detained suspects have been referred to the relevant judicial authorities, with legal proceedings completed, according to the police statement. Officials said the pursuit of wanted individuals and those involved in unlawful activity will continue under the regional security framework.
The directorate added that operations aimed at maintaining public order and protecting residents' safety will continue throughout Salahuddin.
