DUBAI, United Arab Emirates โ€” Major international carriers are keeping large parts of their Middle East schedules on hold following US and Israeli air operations against Iran, gradually restoring services rather than resuming full operations. The wave of suspensions began in late February as the conflict widened, and most cancellations remain in effect. Steps to restart flights followed an agreement reached late on the night between Sunday and Monday between Washington and Tehran, with the formal signing expected on Friday. Aegean Airlines has cancelled Athens-based Thessalonikiโ€“Tel Aviv flights until June 26, Dubai services until August 31, and Erbil and Baghdad flights until September 30. Air France has suspended Tel Aviv flights until June 23, Beirut until June 24, and Dubai until June 30. Lufthansa Group carriers โ€” Lufthansa, Swiss, ITA Airways, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines โ€” are holding services to Abu Dhabi, Amman, Beirut, Dammam, Riyadh, Erbil, Muscat and Tehran until October 24. Finnair continues to avoid Iraqi, Iranian, Syrian and Israeli airspace and has cancelled Doha flights until October 2. SunExpress has suspended Dubai flights until June 30 and flights to Bahrain, Beirut and Erbil until July 14.
