BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Kuwait's Defense Ministry said three border posts came under attack on Sunday evening, leaving one employee injured. Ministry spokesman Colonel Saud Abdulaziz Al-Attawan said a Kuwait Oil Company offshore drilling platform in Kuwaiti territorial waters was also struck by a drone, and that one worker was hospitalized with injuries.
The spokesman said relevant units had launched coordinated response measures and that the armed forces remained in a state of readiness. The Kuwaiti army had earlier announced it had intercepted hostile aerial targets.
According to the same account, Tehran said it had targeted U.S. bases in Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and Jordan. U.S. Central Command said it carried out a series of airstrikes against dozens of Iranian military targets after Iranian Revolutionary Guard forces attacked a vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.
The ministry did not immediately identify those responsible for the attacks on Kuwaiti territory. No further details were immediately available on casualties or damage to the oil platform.
