ERBIL, Iraq โ€” The Kurdistan Regional Government has set a new gasoline pricing schedule across the region, with high-quality gasoline priced at 750 dinars per liter, the region's Natural Resources Ministry announced. The ministry said the tariff was issued under instructions from the regional prime minister's office as part of efforts to ease a fuel shortage and reduce pressure on consumers. According to a written statement from Minister Kamal Salih Mohammed, the ministry also directed that prices for regular commercial gasoline should not exceed 850 dinars per liter, warning that stations failing to comply with the new tariff will face legal action. The ministry said it is working to increase fuel supply to the market, including by bringing in the private sector to help expand distribution. Fuel prices in the Kurdistan Region had risen sharply in recent months amid fluctuations in global markets and ongoing transportation and supply challenges. The ministry did not immediately specify how the new pricing would be enforced or how long it would remain in effect.
