ERBIL, Iraq โ Oil companies operating in the Kurdistan Region have resumed production following a period of disruption, the regional government said. Government spokesperson Peshawa Hurami said in a written statement that HKN has restarted output at a capacity of 7,000 barrels per day, while the Atrush field is set to resume production on Sunday.
Hurami said Gulf Keystone has also returned to production at the Lashkan field on the same day, and that DNO will continue output at the Tawke and Fishkhabour fields on Friday. Hunt Oil is scheduled to restart operations on July 8, according to the spokesperson.
Hurami noted that the companies sustained serious damage in previous attacks and said the renovation of affected sites is required for safe production to continue. No further details on the timeline for full restoration were immediately available.
