ERBIL, Iraq โ Kurdish artist Rizgar Kadir has opened a solo exhibition in Erbil featuring 25 oil paintings depicting the natural landscapes of the Kurdistan Region. The works portray the region's mountains, valleys and water surfaces using varied color techniques.
Kadir said the paintings were the product of months of work and described the exhibition as more than a visual display, framing it as a call for awareness against environmental pollution and urban sprawl. He added that art should serve human and national issues, and described harmful behavior toward nature as the greatest threat to the region.
Visitors said the paintings conveyed a bright portrayal of Kurdistan's natural scenery while prompting reflection on environmental responsibility. They noted the use of strong, warm colors reminded viewers of the region's aesthetic value.
The exhibition drew strong interest from Erbil-based artists, residents and others interested in the environment and the arts, according to the exhibition's organizers.
