RIYADH, Saudi Arabia โ Kirkuk's grain silos have accepted approximately 60,000 tons of wheat in the first four days of the marketing season, according to Kirkuk Silo Director Hasan Hammadi. Hammadi said seasonal purchases are expected to reach 500,000 tons by the end of the procurement period.
Delivery operations are conducted through four centers: the Kirkuk Silo, Taze Silo, Riyadh Silo Center, and Hawija Center. The Kirkuk Silo processes around 150 vehicles per day, while each of the other facilities handles approximately 100 vehicles daily. Technical and administrative teams are working according to a structured schedule to ensure farmers and sellers are not disadvantaged.
Kirkuk ranks among Iraq's leading wheat-producing provinces, having delivered 503,000 tons last season and 537,000 tons the previous year.
