ANBAR, Iraq โ A security official with Iraq's Kataib Hezbollah said the group and allied resistance factions would join any new war against Iran without delay. Speaking in remarks reported by Iraqi outlets, Abu Mijahid al-Asaf, the group's security chief, said the decision to fight was rooted in belief and "leaves no room for negotiation."
Al-Asaf said the factions are closely monitoring regional developments and voiced support for the position taken by Yemen's Houthis. He also criticized Gulf states' responses to regional events, warning that pressure on followers of Ahlulbayt in Gulf countries would not go unanswered, without elaborating on the group behind the threats.
On domestic issues, al-Asaf said Iraq's anti-corruption track must continue and cover all state institutions, and should be kept separate from political settlements. He did not provide further details on the mechanisms or timeline for such measures, and no Iraqi government response to his comments was immediately available.
