ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates โ€” An Israeli minister said on Sunday that the United Arab Emirates received missile interceptors from Israel to help counter Iranian ballistic missiles. Speaking to the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, Communications Minister Shlomo Karai said Abu Dhabi had received Iron Dome interceptors from Tel Aviv, confirming earlier Israeli media reports that the system had been transferred. Karai said the UAE had identified ballistic missiles as one of its gravest threats and was cooperating with Israel in response. The exchange marks the first confirmation by a senior Israeli official that interceptors were supplied to the UAE. The UAE has previously been targeted by attacks involving ballistic missiles and drones, which caused casualties and damaged facilities, according to earlier reporting. The newly confirmed transfer highlights growing security coordination between Israel and the Gulf state amid shared concerns over Iran. No further details on the quantity of interceptors delivered or the terms of the arrangement were immediately available.
