Israeli forces raid towns in Syria's Deraa and Quneitra countryside

JERUSALEM — The Israeli army carried out new military operations in the countryside of Syria's southern Deraa and Quneitra provinces, according to Syria's state-linked newspaper Al-Watan. An Israeli patrol of six military vehicles entered the town of Taranja in northern Quneitra countryside, raiding and searching two homes, the newspaper reported. A separate patrol of three military vehicles set up a checkpoint in the town of Al-Aref, where soldiers stopped and searched pedestrians and vehicles, Al-Watan said. No detentions were reported from the operation. Separately, local sources said three Israeli armored vehicles entered the Wadi al-Rikad area in the western countryside of Deraa city, while Israeli helicopters flew at low altitude over the town of Tafas and surrounding settlements. No further details were immediately available on the objectives or outcome of the operations.
