Israeli army says it struck Hezbollah building in southern Lebanon

JERUSALEM — The Israeli military said it targeted a building in southern Lebanon used by Hezbollah members, accusing the group of preparing to use anti-tank missiles stored there against Israeli forces. The army said in a written statement that the strike followed the detection of missiles being moved within a security zone, and that explosions at the site after the hit confirmed the presence of weapons. The military also released footage of the targeted building. Israel has carried out air and drone operations against towns in southern Lebanon, including fighter jet strikes, the demolition of homes, the use of stun grenades and machine-gun fire, according to Lebanon's official state news agency. The agency reported that the operations amount to new violations of the ceasefire agreement between the two sides. Israel has continued its strikes on Lebanon, citing the war it has been fighting with Iran since March. According to Lebanese Health Ministry figures, Israeli attacks have killed 4,321 people and wounded 12,204 as of July.
