Israel announced Tuesday that its forces killed several senior Hamas security officials in airstrikes across Gaza, including the deputy head of the group's General Security Unit. The military identified the targets as Hasan Rubah Labbad, Azem Emin, Abdullah Ata and Muhammed Numan, saying the unit operated as a secret structure protecting Hamas leadership. Health officials reported at least 10 Palestinians were killed in separate strikes the same day, including five members of the same family. The killings follow a ceasefire agreement brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump after the war began in October 2023. The agreement left Israel controlling more than half of the Gaza Strip. Indirect negotiations aimed at implementing a second phase involving disarmament and the withdrawal of Israeli forces have reached a deadlock. No further details about the strikes or the stalled negotiations were immediately available.
