BEIRUT, Lebanon โ€” Israel's Government Coordination Unit announced Tuesday the indefinite suspension of humanitarian aid deliveries into Gaza, citing security concerns in the aftermath of Iran's missile strike. The closure affects all border crossings, including Kerem Abu Salim and Rafah. The unit stated the decision was implemented following an assessment of recent developments and conditions on the ground. Officials argued that the volume of food and humanitarian aid entering Gaza since the ceasefire took effect exceeds the population's needs according to United Nations standards. The ceasefire agreement stipulates approximately 600 trucks per day, though data from humanitarian organizations and Gaza's Government Press Office indicate that permits were granted for only 90 to 150 trucks daily. Israel first closed the crossings, particularly Kerem Abu Salim, in February when military operations resumed, disrupting the flow of assistance. The latest closure comes one day after Iran fired missiles at Israel following Israeli strikes on southern Beirut, and Israel's subsequent attacks on multiple locations inside Iran.
