Filipino singer Vanessa Blanca dies at 30 after bathroom fall in Manila

MANILA, Philippines — Filipino pop singer Vanessa Blanca has died at the age of 30 after falling in the bathroom of her apartment in Manila, according to Manila Bulletin. The singer reportedly slipped while getting dressed, struck her head on the floor and suffered severe brain injury and internal bleeding. Family members said Blanca was taken to hospital and could not be saved despite intensive medical treatment. Her cousin, Ivy Ann Salaum Jubileg, wrote on Facebook that emergency responders took about 15 minutes to arrive, after which relatives moved Blanca out of the apartment in a wheelchair and brought her to a hospital themselves. Blanca rose to fame as a child contestant on the talent show "Popstar Kids" and later joined the GMA Network group Sugarpop. After leaving the group, she pursued a solo career and became known for songs including "Dota o Ako." Following news of her death, fans shared Blanca's music and memories on social media and posted condolence messages to her family.
