BAGHDAD, Iraq โ€” Prime Minister Mohammed Shia'eb al-Sudani said agreements worth approximately $60 billion signed with US companies reflect negotiations and mutual trust, not merely paper or statements of intent. Speaking on Friday at a US Chamber of Commerce conference, he told American business representatives the deals were the result of his visit and the government's confidence in US firms. Al-Sudani said Iraq would pursue an open-door policy and invited companies to come to the country to help define a working roadmap and share their needs. He added that ministry doors would remain open to companies within each sector's mandate, a step he said would ease project implementation and strengthen economic and investment cooperation. The agreements cover investment and energy, oil transportation and the construction of new pipelines, according to the prime minister's remarks. The government said the moves aim to upgrade infrastructure and deepen economic partnership with the United States. The signing ceremony was attended by ministers, advisers and company representatives.
