Iraqi PM Backs Integration of Sadr's Saraya al-Salam into State Security

Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ali Falih al-Zarari has endorsed the decision to integrate Muqtada al-Sadr's Saraya al-Salam forces into the state security apparatus under the command of the General Forces Commander. Al-Zarari stated that the move strengthens state sovereignty and consolidates government authority by ensuring the state maintains a monopoly on the use of force. The Prime Minister emphasized that the integration is essential for security forces to effectively carry out their duties and maintain national stability. Al-Zarari called upon all remaining armed groups to follow this path of national responsibility and operate exclusively under the state umbrella. He stressed that unifying all security forces is critical to protecting Iraq, ensuring its sovereignty, and enhancing overall public security.
