ANKARA, Turkey โ€” Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Falih al-Zaydi chaired an Iraq-Turkey round table meeting in Ankara on Tuesday, bringing together Turkish business figures to discuss strengthening bilateral economic and trade ties and expanding investment cooperation. According to a statement from the Iraqi Prime Minister's Press Office, the talks focused on advancing economic and commercial relations based on mutual interests, along with mechanisms and incentives to improve the investment climate in line with Iraq's push to open its economy and facilitate bilateral trade. Al-Zaydi arrived in the Turkish capital with a senior government delegation for an official visit. Meetings with Turkish President Recep Tayyip ErdoฤŸan and senior Turkish officials are expected to cover cooperation in the economy, water, security and investment. The agenda will also include oil and energy files, increasing trade volume, and the implementation of bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding, as well as regional and international issues, according to the Iraqi statement.
