BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani met with a delegation from the Al-Kadhimiya Shrine in Baghdad, led by the shrine's secretary-general, Haidar Abdul Amir Mehdi, according to a written statement from the Prime Minister's press office.
During the meeting at the Prime Minister's office, the delegation presented plans for the shrine's service and construction projects. Al-Sudani was given a detailed briefing on work aimed at managing the flow of visitors during the large-scale pilgrimages the site receives.
The Prime Minister reiterated the government's commitment to supporting the holy shrines, the statement said. It added that the necessary support would be extended to ensure the best possible services for visitors from inside Iraq and abroad and to accommodate the rising number of pilgrims.
