ANBAR, Iraq — BAGHDAD — An Iraqi parliament member said the remaining vacancies in Prime Minister Ali al-Zeydi's government will be filled after the legislature's recess ends. Hrem Kamal Ağa told reporters in Sulaymaniyah that parliament is scheduled to reconvene after July 1, and filling the empty ministerial positions will be addressed in those sessions.
Ağa also provided details on an agreement between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Regional Government regarding civil servant salaries. Under the deal, 120 billion dinars per month will be transferred from non-oil revenues to the federal government, and 230,000 barrels of oil will be exported daily.
He said the agreement must be implemented without being tied to other outstanding issues, and should remain in place until a new general budget is approved.
