BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's Ministry of Education has launched an investigation after security personnel at Baghdad International Airport intercepted a traveler carrying exam papers, ministry spokesman Karim al-Seyyid said. Education Minister Abdul Karim Ubeytan ordered an urgent inquiry into the incident and is personally overseeing the process, the spokesman added.
The ministry held an emergency meeting late at night to examine all aspects of the case. Al-Seyyid said the smuggling attempt was detected by airport security, without providing further details on the traveler or the papers involved.
According to the spokesman, exams across the country are being held under strict security and technical measures, and any irregularities will be investigated transparently. The ministry also assured students and parents that examinations are continuing safely.
