BAGHDAD, Iraq โ€” Iraq's four highest state officials met at the Baghdad Palace to discuss the country's political, security, and economic situation. The meeting included President Nizar Amidi, Prime Minister Ali Falih Zaydi, Parliament Speaker Hebat al-Halbusi, and High Judicial Council President Judge Faik Zeydan. The leaders agreed that weapons must remain exclusively under the control of official state institutions and the supervision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to strengthen the rule of law and ensure stability. They expressed appreciation for steps taken by certain groups toward full integration into state institutions. On the economic front, the officials called for reducing the national economy's reliance on oil by diversifying revenue sources. They decided to support the industrial, agricultural, and tourism sectors while improving investment legislation to attract domestic and foreign capital. Regarding regional developments, the leaders stated that Iraq opposes the use of its territory for attacks against any other country, emphasizing dialogue and diplomacy as the only solutions to reduce regional tensions. The presidency also noted the need to accelerate the formation of the council of ministers to improve government performance.
