BAGHDAD, Iraq โ The Iraqi Cycling Federation announced that national team Olympian Hussein Ihab Abdulhidir is participating in a track racing preparation camp in Shanghai, China.
Federation President Ali Hamid said the camp began June 1 and will continue through June 29. The program is organized with support from the International Cycling Union and Olympic Solidarity. Alongside the Iraqi athlete, cyclists from various Arab and Asian countries are also taking part. UCI-appointed track racing specialist coaches are overseeing the training.
Hamid said the federation will provide continued support if Abdulhidir demonstrates solid technical performance during the camp. The goal, according to the federation, is to strengthen the athlete's competitiveness in Arab, continental, and international competitions.
