Iraqi counter-terrorism unit arrests senior Hezbollah Iraq commander in Dhi Qar

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) detained a senior leader of the Hezbollah Iraq movement, known in Arabic as Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba, in a raid in Dhi Qar province in the country's south, a security source said. According to the source, a CTS force deployed from Baghdad raided a house in the Fudayliyah subdistrict near the provincial capital Nasiriyah and arrested the head of the movement's reconnaissance unit. The detainee was described as one of the highest-ranking officials in the group. The suspect was transferred to Baghdad to complete investigative procedures, the source added.
