Iraqi border forces seize 15 kg of crystal meth in Sinjar; child murder suspect arrested in Anbar

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraqi Border Security Command forces seized 15 kilograms of crystal narcotics during an intelligence-based operation in the Sinjar district, the Border Security Command said. The seized substance was taken into custody and referred to the Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Unit in Nineveh province for examination and legal proceedings. Separately, Anbar Police Command announced the arrest of a suspect accused of killing a five-year-old child in the Habbaniyah district. According to the police statement, officers took the suspect into custody after the killing, which police said stemmed from a family dispute, and legal proceedings have been initiated. Anbar Police Command said the investigation into those involved in the crime is ongoing and that threats to public safety will not be tolerated. No further details were immediately available.
