Iraqi airstrike in Kirkuk kills four militants, command says

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq’s Joint Operations Command said an airstrike targeted a militant base in Kirkuk province and killed four militants. The strike hit a target in the Shai Valley in the Kirkuk operations area, the command said. The command said F-16 fighter jets carried out the strike based on precise intelligence provided by military intelligence. It said the attack destroyed the base completely and killed three militants. Iraqi army air power then carried out reconnaissance in the area and killed one more militant, the command said. It added that security forces were continuing to track the remaining militant remnants.
