BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's Meteorological Directorate said on Wednesday that most of the country would see clear skies, with partly cloudy conditions in parts of the north. The agency forecast temperatures to drop by a few degrees in central and southern cities, while northern regions are expected to remain near recent levels.
Daytime conditions are set to stay above the seasonal average, with oppressive heat in some areas, according to the directorate. Overnight and early morning hours are expected to bring a relative easing of the high temperatures.
Officials noted that thermometers would remain at elevated readings, particularly in southern cities. The directorate urged residents to avoid direct sun exposure during midday, drink sufficient fluids and take precautions during outdoor activities.
A slight cooldown is also expected in Baghdad and the surrounding area, the agency said.
