Iraq to See Rising Temperatures Sunday With Light Rain in Some Areas

Iraq’s weather is set to turn warmer on Sunday, with partly cloudy skies across much of the country, light rain in some areas and afternoon winds that may reach 40 kilometres per hour in places. The forecast matters for travel and daily activity as temperatures rise in the north and south while dust is expected to lift in central and southern regions. Meteorology said tomorrow will be generally clear across Iraq with scattered clouds and light to moderate northwesterly winds. In the western part of the country, winds will shift to the southeast, while temperatures are expected to rise by a few degrees. On Sunday, skies will be partly cloudy overall, with light rain showers possible in some areas. The agency said afternoon winds could locally strengthen to 40 kilometres per hour. Light dust is expected to rise in the central and southern regions. Temperatures in the central zone are expected to remain largely unchanged, while the north and south are forecast to see increases of a few degrees. On Monday, the weather will be clear in the central and northern regions and partly cloudy in the south. On Tuesday, partly cloudy conditions are expected across the country. Tomorrow’s maximum temperatures are forecast at 37-39 degrees in the south, 35-36 in the central region and 28-32 in the north.
