Iraq Stars League third week opens with five matches on Wednesday

BAGHDAD, Iraq — The third week of Iraq's Stars League football season begins Wednesday with five matches scheduled across Baghdad, Duhok and Anbar, according to the fixture list. The opening fixture kicks off at 6:30 p.m. at Captain Sharar Haidar Stadium, where Karkh hosts Erbil. At 6:45 p.m., Zaho faces Diyala in Duhok, while Jwan plays Police in an away fixture. In the evening session, Zevra hosts Naft Maysan at Zevra Stadium at 9:00 p.m. The day's final match, set for 9:45 p.m. at Captain Sharar Haidar Stadium, pits Air Force against Gas North. After two rounds, Erbil sits atop the table with four points on goal difference. Naft is second, Garav third, Kerame fourth, Mawan fifth, Mosul sixth and Jwan seventh, each also on four points. Diyala and Zaho have three points apiece, while Karkh remains pointless at the bottom of the standings.
