Iraq Stars League third-week matches to begin Tuesday

BAGHDAD, Iraq — The Iraqi Football Federation has scheduled the third round of the Iraq Stars League for Tuesday, with matches set to be played through Wednesday. The federation's Competitions Committee approved a program of 10 fixtures across stadiums in Baghdad and other cities. After two rounds, Erbil leads the standings on four points by goal difference. Naft, Garaf, Kerma, Myna and Mosul are level with Erbil on four points, ranking second through sixth respectively on goal difference. Jawlan, Diyala and Zakho are also tied on four points, placed seventh, eighth and ninth by goal difference. Karkh sits at the bottom of the table as the only team yet to earn a point this season. The federation did not immediately announce further details beyond the two-day match schedule.
