BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Baghdad Operations Command said security forces shut down three nightclubs and entertainment halls operating without tourism licenses on the capital's Rusafa side and detained multiple suspects, including foreign nationals. The command said units attached to the Federal Police's First and Fifth Divisions, backed by intelligence units, have continued inspections of unlicensed restaurants, halls and tourism facilities across the area.
According to the statement, the targeted venues were found to be operating in violation of Tourism Authority regulations. Among those detained were suspects wanted under different legal provisions and foreign nationals who had violated residency conditions, the command said.
The operation also resulted in the seizure of unlicensed weapons and ammunition, the command added.
The command said the detained individuals and seized materials were handed over to the relevant authorities to complete legal proceedings. No further details were immediately available.
