BAGHDAD, Iraq โ The 2025-2026 Iraq Stars League season ends today with five matches, including two in Baghdad, on the 38th and final round of the competition. Erbil will host Amedet Baghdad in another fixture, while the other three matches are also set to be played across the round.
The final week carries added weight for teams near the relegation zone. Amedet Baghdad and Meysan Petrol are trying to move clear of 18th place, while Mena aims to finish the season without any further calculations.
The title and standings race was also affected by a partial interim order issued yesterday by the International Court of Arbitration for Sport. Under the decision, if the points gap between Air Force and Police remains at three or fewer, the Iraq Football Association will rely on the provisional standings, suspend the trophy and medal ceremony, and will not send the results to the Asian Football Confederation.
