BAGHDAD, Iraq โ€” Iraqi Finance Minister Falih al-Sari called for accelerating work to extend the ASYCUDA customs system to border crossings in the Kurdistan Region. The system is intended to unify customs procedures nationwide on a single digital platform. The Finance Ministry said coordination with relevant institutions is continuing to implement the project. Al-Sari reiterated the central governmentโ€™s commitment to applying customs automation at all border crossings. Officials said the system is intended to improve transparency, regulate interregional trade and ensure customs revenues are recorded accurately. Its implementation is also expected to reduce manual processing at border crossings, with Baghdad seeking to cover all of Iraqโ€™s border posts.
