BAGHDAD, Iraq โ The 27th edition of the Baghdad International Book Fair opened on Tuesday, with Prime Minister Ali Ziyadi inaugurating the event, according to a statement from the Prime Minister's Press Office. The fair is scheduled to run from September 2 to 10.
The Ministry of Trade said it has completed technical, logistical and organizational preparations for the fair. The ministry described the event as a major cultural gathering with broad Arab and international participation, and said it reflects Baghdad's historical and cultural standing while supporting the promotion of reading and knowledge.
The fair brings together publishing houses, authors, intellectuals and visitors, providing a wide meeting ground for cultural exchange, according to the ministry. A ministry spokesperson said the event is designed to expand access to books and literary exchange across the region.
The book fair will remain open to visitors until September 10.
