Iraq says over 4.88 million visitors have arrived for Arbaeen pilgrimage

BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's Arbaeen Pilgrimage Command, affiliated with the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, said the number of visitors entering the country since the start of the Islamic month of Muharram reached 4,887,660 as of Monday night. The figure was released as commemorations marking the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein approach.
The command said security forces and support units are continuing their duties under the supervision of the Million-Visitor Supreme Committee. It added that security, order and service measures have been reinforced in line with the steady rise in arrivals.
Officials said preparations are proceeding as planned to keep the movement of pilgrims uninterrupted and to maintain a safe environment throughout the visitation period.
