Iraq Labor Ministry disburses June stipends to Yazidi survivors of ISIS attacks

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has begun distributing June stipends to women and men rescued from the atrocities of ISIS, the ministry's General Directorate for Survivors announced. Under the 2021 Yazidi Survivors Law, payments were made to 2,216 beneficiaries from all covered components, according to the directorate's statement. The law covers Yazidi women and men who were abducted, captured or harmed in ISIS's 2014 attacks, as well as members of other ethnic and religious components. The ministry said the required financial and administrative procedures had been completed to ensure the stipends are delivered on a regular basis. It added that the list of approved beneficiaries has been forwarded to bank branches through the relevant departments. The statement did not specify the amount paid per beneficiary.
