BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's official gold reserves stand at 174.6 tonnes, representing 23.1 percent of the country's total reserves, according to the World Gold Council's August 2026 data. The Council's table lists Iraq's most recent figures as dating from November 2025, with no update recorded since, while some other countries show more recent entries.
Iraq ranks 28th globally and third among Arab countries, behind Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The United States leads the list with 8,133.5 tonnes.
Under the Council's methodology, official gold reserve figures are drawn primarily from International Monetary Fund statistics, and countries report their data on different schedules. Earlier Council data also show Iraq's holdings have remained steady at 174.6 tonnes, with no new purchases recorded in 2026.
