Iraq's Al-Azm Coalition says commemorating Yazidi genocide reflects national solidarity

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's Al-Azm Coalition said on Monday that commemorating the tragedy faced by the Yazidi community represents a national stance and a genuine expression of solidarity among Iraqis. In a statement, the coalition said it firmly rejects terrorism, extremism and violence in all forms. The coalition stressed that protecting all components of the Iraqi people and respecting religious, ethnic and social diversity is a shared national responsibility. It added that strengthening social cohesion and the rule of law forms the foundation for building a stable state based on security, justice and equality. The statement reaffirmed the coalition's support for pursuing justice for those affected by the tragedy and addressing its humanitarian consequences. It said fostering peaceful coexistence and respect for rights will safeguard Iraq's security, stability and the dignity of all citizens.
