Iraq's Air Defense Sports Club departs Baghdad for Arab Speed Ball Championship in Algeria

BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's Air Defense Sports Club speed ball team has left Baghdad to compete in the Arab Clubs Speed Ball Championship, scheduled for July 24-31, 2026 in Relizane (Ruleybe), Algeria. Eighteen Arab clubs are set to take part in the tournament.
The club is returning to the competition for the second time. In its previous appearance at the championship held in Port Said, Egypt, the team finished fourth in the team event and won 12 medals.
Club officials said the squad aims to deliver a strong performance this year and to reflect the development of the speed ball discipline in Iraq. The club has also said it seeks to strengthen its standing among Arab clubs and target a higher position in the overall medal rankings.
