Iraq Stock Exchange weekly trading value jumps 240%

BAGHDAD, Iraq โ The Iraq Stock Exchange (ISX) reported that the value of shares traded last week rose 240.21% from the previous week, while the number of traded shares increased 256.45%. The ISX60 index gained 2.04% over the same period, according to the exchange's weekly report.
During five trading sessions, shares of 72 listed companies changed hands, while 21 firms saw no transactions because buy and sell orders did not match. Trading in 10 companies remained suspended for failing to submit mandatory disclosures. A total of 93.98 billion shares were traded for 47.99 billion dinars across 5,782 transactions, compared with 26.36 billion shares worth 14.10 billion dinars the previous week.
The ISX60 index closed the week at 1,044.25 points. Foreign investors purchased about 23.36 million shares for 133.7 million dinars in 93 transactions and sold 14.67 billion shares for 20.69 billion dinars in 150 transactions.
Headquartered in Baghdad, the exchange lists shares of 103 companies across banking, telecommunications, industry, agriculture, tourism, services, investment and insurance sectors.
