BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's General Directorate of Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring said the country experienced a more pronounced temperature decline on the tenth day of Muharram, with milder conditions overnight and in the early morning hours. The agency reported that maximum temperatures fell by approximately 24°C in some areas, describing the drop as an expected seasonal development.
The directorate attributed the change to the influence of a low-pressure system and a relatively cooler air mass, along with limited activity from light northwesterly winds. The effect is expected to be more noticeable in northern and central regions, while southern areas are forecast to remain relatively warmer, with the day-night temperature gap persisting.
Light northerly winds are expected to continue creating a milder feel, according to the agency. The directorate said the relative temperature decline would continue over the coming days with day-to-day variations. No further details were immediately available.
