BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani on Saturday opened the Al-Rahman Magnetic Resonance and Spiral Tomography Center at the Ibn al-Battar Cardiac Surgery Hospital in Baghdad, equipped with artificial intelligence-assisted systems described as the country's first facility of its kind in diagnostic technology. The Health Minister attended the opening ceremony.
The prime minister said services at the new center will be provided free of charge and operate around the clock. He also directed the hospital administration to set up an electronic system for managing patient admissions and appointments.
Al-Sudani said advanced diagnostic methods would reduce the need for patients to travel abroad for treatment, easing their financial and psychological burden. He also called for the adoption of modern management practices in the health sector, the strengthening of oversight bodies, and the establishment of a fund for patients with severe illnesses.
