Iraq opens master's applications to night-school contract teachers

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's Ministry of Education has opened master's degree applications for the 2026-2027 academic year exclusively to contract teachers working in night schools, the ministry's press office said. The decision follows an announcement by the Research and Development Department at the Ministry of Higher Education. To be eligible, candidates must meet admission and competition requirements and complete the national English, computer and Arabic exams, the ministry said. Contract teachers are also required to obtain nomination and permission letters from the relevant General Directorates of Education. Applications will be submitted through a designated electronic link after the nomination and permission documents are secured from the General Directorate of Education. Applicants will fill out the electronic form and upload the required documents in PDF format, according to the ministry.
