Iraq led OPEC output rise in July as Gulf producers restored supply

KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait — OPEC's oil production rose sharply in July as Gulf producers restored supplies interrupted by the Iran war and disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, according to a Reuters survey. Excluding the United Arab Emirates, OPEC output climbed by roughly 1.17 million barrels per day from May's steep drop, reaching 19.85 million barrels per day. Iraq recorded the largest increase among OPEC members, followed by Kuwait. Iran also lifted its oil exports despite reimposing a blockade on US ports in mid-July, though shipments have since slowed again. Saudi Arabia's supply edged lower, while Libya raised its production. The survey was based on LSEG oil flow data, vessel-tracking figures from Kpler and other companies, and information from OPEC, oil firms and industry consultants.
