Iraq, Jordan discuss preparations for Arab-European meeting

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi discussed preparations for the sixth Arab-European meeting due on June 22, according to Iraq’s Foreign Ministry. The ministry said Safadi congratulated Hussein at the start of the call on renewing his confidence and taking up the foreign minister post for a new term. The two sides reviewed ongoing preparations for the meeting, which is scheduled to be held in Jordan on June 22-23, 2026. Foreign ministers from Arab and European countries are expected to attend the gathering. The ministry said the discussion also touched on the importance of strengthening dialogue and coordination on regional and international issues. Hussein and Safadi also reviewed ways to develop bilateral relations and expand cooperation in several fields.
