Iraqi Health Minister Abdulhussein Moussawi has urged citizens to avoid using fireworks during the Eid al-Adha holiday to protect public safety and reduce the risk of accidents. The ministry said health services will continue without interruption throughout the holiday period.
Hospitals and specialist centers will remain on 24-hour alert for emergencies during the holiday, while dialysis and cancer treatment will continue according to the planned schedule. The ministry said this arrangement is intended to ensure continuity of essential care while handling any urgent cases that arise.
Moussawi also stressed the need to follow safe methods for meat handling and slaughter to help prevent Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever. He said proper hygiene and careful processing are essential during Eid, when livestock slaughter and meat distribution increase.
The minister called on security and municipal authorities to prevent illegal slaughter and grazing. He said coordinated enforcement is necessary to support public health measures and limit related risks during the holiday.
