Iraq extends Hajj prepayment refund window to September 2026

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's Hajj and Umrah Authority has extended the deadline for refund applications on Hajj prepayments to Sept. 10, 2026, giving citizens additional time to complete the process. The authority said its offices nationwide will operate daily until 6 p.m. to accommodate applicants and ease congestion. Pilgrims who paid prepayments and wish to seek a refund can apply at the authority's offices in Baghdad and other cities within the extended period. Offices will also remain open on Fridays and Saturdays, which precede the next official holiday, to give applicants more flexibility. Officials said applicants can visit their nearest authority office to finalize the refund procedure. The authority said it is providing the necessary accommodations to speed up processing and improve services for citizens.
