Iraq expects cooler September after August heat

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's Meteorological Authority has forecast a modest decline in temperatures as the country moves from August into September, with weather remaining mostly clear across most regions. According to the agency, Wednesday will bring partly cloudy conditions in northern areas and a slight rise in temperatures compared with the previous day, while central and northern regions will see a small increase on Thursday and southern areas will remain steady. Friday's forecast calls for continued clear skies with temperatures unchanged, and Saturday will see stable weather nationwide, with central and northern areas holding steady and a slight rise in the south. The authority said maximum temperatures on Wednesday would range between 36 and 45 degrees Celsius across the country.
