Iraq begins repatriation of three citizens who entered Libya illegally

Iraq has begun the voluntary repatriation of three of its citizens who entered Libya illegally, the country's chargé d'affaires in Tripoli, Ahmed al-Saffar, said on Sunday. Al-Saffar said the embassy was coordinating with Libya's Government of National Unity on the necessary steps after confirming that the three Iraqis had entered Libyan territory through irregular channels. The three citizens have completed documentation of their nationality and the voluntary return process has begun, according to al-Saffar. He said the embassy, through the relevant authorities in Tripoli, was continuing efforts to determine the fate of other Iraqis who entered Libya illegally. No further details on the timing or logistics of the repatriation were immediately available. The embassy said it is working with Libyan authorities to complete the returns.
