Iraq begins June disability caregiver allowances, ministry says

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has begun distributing the June 2026 muin mutefarrik allowances for caregivers of people with disabilities, according to a ministry statement. Zikra Abdurrahim, head of the ministry's Council for the Rights of People with Disabilities and Special Needs, said the council has completed all technical, administrative and financial procedures for the payments. The statement said more than 378,000 people are eligible for the payments, with the total amount exceeding 66.884 billion Iraqi dinars. The council said work is continuing to maintain regular payment flows and protect the living conditions of people with disabilities. Beneficiaries were told to wait for payment notifications from the relevant banks before applying to designated electronic payment outlets, the statement added.
